Dr.Kaveri kannan welcomed the executive members.
Dr.Jeyalal, Dr.Balaganeshkumar, Dr.Peter, Dr.Chelian, Dr.Kaverikannan, Dr.Isac Newton, Dr.Jesu Anandaroopan, Dr.suresh, Dr.Anburajan, Dr.Adamshaikali & Dr.Avudaiappan have participated the Meeting.
- Celebrations dates– 18 & 19th July 2009 confirmed.The importance for better mutual understanding between the family members of all our the members (Batch mates, spouses and kids) is to be given prime importance .
- Stay in an outdoor – Picnic spot may be highly useful for the above mentioned Family members understanding and mingling.
- Kovalam – Udhaya samudra Holiday Resorts was proposed by Dr.Balaganesh Kumar, which was accepted by most of the members present, who are aware of the Picnic spot already.
- All the members will be informed to meet on 18.07.09, Saturday morning 10 am at the Picnic spot.
- The Holiday resorts may charge about Rs.4000/- per family for 24 hrs stay including the break-fast. Enough rooms are available there. Three Swimming pools, Conference halls of various capacities, Auditoriums and all necessary arrangements can be got from there.
- The place is just 10-15 km distance from Trivandrum Airport.
It is decided to rearrange all committees for more convenience and better cooperation. All committees should have a Chairman – in charge, who will select five more members atleast for better planning and execution. This will be intimated within two days.
- Zonal incharge persons may be given responsibilities in organizing the members in their respective zonal areas.
- SOUVENIER books as well as CDs are to be prepared for distribution.Saturday – 2to 5 pm – Programmes for Kids. Night – Orchestra and other campfire programmes.
- Sunday – Morning – informal programmes and dispersal after lunch.Each family should pay Rs.9999.99 (Nine Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninty Nine and ninty nine paise) as their contribution.
- Dr.Anand's Endowment Surgery Gold medal - can be avoided. Instead the fecibility of putting the amount as fixed deposite on his children names or naming the Green valley programme after his name or any other better way of honoring him can be decided latter in the next meeting.
- Special interest may be given for Overseas friends during the Get together to share their lifestyles and experiences.
- CME programme & Felicitation of our respected TEACHERS may be arranged in TvMCH after the 2 days stay in outdoor spot. Giving enough time for the members to take the spouses and their kids back to home. And then may turn back to TVMCH for the CME & Teachers felicitations.
- Dr.Jeyaraj Duraipandian, who has become the honourable Board member in Department of Neurology to be honoured.Dr.Jeyalal, who has become the Honourable National Secretary of IMA - also to be honored in the get together.
- It is decide to have the next meeting at the picnic spot itself for better planing before the end of November. Before the next meeting almost all the members should be informed through post and their opinions can be sought regarding the programme and the itenaries.In the next meeting all the programmes should be finalized.
- Dr.Jeyalal has presented mementos to all the participants on behalf of the meeting organisers and given the vote of Thanks.

Silver Jubilee Year 2009 - Class Conference
Minutes of the First Organisational Meet held on 3.9.2008 at Peace Health Centre, Tirunelveli
The Meeting commenced at 10.00pm in the conference hall of Peace Health Centre, Tirunelveli.
The members trickled in and out with a final tally of 13 members – that included – Drs’.Anburajan, Ramesh Shankar, Shantaraman, Adham Sheik Ali, Gopi, Avudiappan, Prince Udhayasingh, Chezhiyan, Jeyamurugan, Raja Pandian, Kaveri Kannan, Peter Aloysius & Issac Newton.
Dr.Ramesh Shankar briefed the members regarding the views and disposition of our members in UK and US.
It was resolved during the course of a hot and varied discussion that
- The Dates for the Meet will be : July 18th & 19th 2009 – Saturday and Sunday
- The Venue will be Auditorium, Tirunelveli Medical College , Tirunelveli
- The members shall include all of us who studied together from 1984 – 1990
- All Teachers who are available should be contacted and personally invited to the meeting & should be honored.
- The Fun & Game content of the meet should be efficiently managed to involve all members and their spouses and children. The possibility of involving a professional event manager shall be considered.
- The Basic frame work of the Program was discussed and was decided that the first day meet shall include
Informal Batch Interaction Session in the Morning
Games and AV Show for Children and Adults in the Afternoon
Formal Batch Conference in the Evening
Banquet & Culturals in the Late Evening
- The issue of a post conference tour / out door meet was discussed in detail and was resolved that a final decision will be taken at a later organizers meeting after understanding the views of most of our members.
- The members resolved that the meet needs the co-operative effort of all its constituent members and hence to form committees to carry out the organization of the meet. The committees include

The members resolved to prescribe a registration fees of Rs.5000/- per member/family for the meet (Both Indian Residents and Indian Non Residents). All members are requested to consider sponsoring individual events as they aspire. The members also resolved to raise sponsors / advertisers for the meet.
The members resolved to constitute a permanent Treasury endowment in memory of Dr.R.Anand our classmate who left us suddenly. The endowment will be titled
“Dr. Anand Memorial Endowment Gold Medal”
for the Undergraduate Student scoring the highest total marks in General Surgery, Anaesthesia & Orthopaedics Theory and Practicals Examinations during the MBBS Final Year exams held in February of every year from the year 2010.
The members resolved to request all the constituent members to involve and contribute to the success of the Batch Conference according their interests. They are requested to offer their suggestions to all the committees & members to make the process of organization more broad based and consensual. The venue & date of the next meeting will be intimated later.

Ramesh Shankar proved to be a business man and using even alumni site for business. I would like this to be removed from this site.

I am not sure about the purpose of Alumni association website where these kinds of advertisements are posted. This is a shame on doctors who use the site for these kind of purpose.

Hi TvMCians,
It was fantastic to see you all at Northampton on Saturday for our 7th Yearly meet in UK. As u might be aware it was attended by around 45 TvMCians with their families making it around 110 in total numbers. It was a lovely sunny day with Nellai makkal [ what a joy ] I am sure everyone of you would have enjoyed it like me.
It was nice to see Dr.Prathap Gnanamuthu as our Guest. Our spouses and children also did enjoy the day. The programme was well charted and conducted. I am sure we would improve it next year. Games, Presentations and food were nice. It is a shame some batches very not represented and I am sure next year they would make up
for it.
My special thanks goes to the organisers and their spouses namely Dr. Abu, Dr. Bazur, Dr.Hari and Dr.Sriraman who did a great job to make this event a great success. I should not discount the efforts of those TvMCians who made an effort to be there amidst thier tight schedule and made it a grand day. Please pencil the second weekend of May 2009 for our next meet.

| Update of 1984 - 1990 batch in UK
|
- Dr.Bazurullahkhan currently working as a partnership GP in Wellingborough,Northamptonshire, UK completed his MBBS, MS [ General Surgery ] in India followed by MRCS and MRCGP in UK. He is happily married and blessed with a daughter.
- Dr.Chitra is married and working as a GP in UK.
- Dr.IndraSujatha completed her MBBS, MD [ O&G ] in India and is currently working in the same speciality in UK as a staff specialist.She is happily married with two children.
- Dr.Krishnamoorthy completed his MBBS and MD [ Anaesthesia ] from India and is currently working as a Specialist Registrar in Anaesthetics in Manchester rotation. He is happily married and blessed with a daughter.
- Dr.Manohar Jesuraj completed his MBBS from India and went to Belgium and ended up in UK.He finished his MRCS and FRCS [ urology ] and currently working as an Associate Specialist in Urology in Middlesborough, UK. He is happily married with two children.
- Dr.Ramesh Shankar completed his MBBS, DPM, DNB [psych], DIP in India followed by MRCPsych in UK and Specialist Registrar Training in General Adult Psychiatry / Addiction Psychiatry. He is currently working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Mental Health Trust, Cambridgeshire in UK.He is happily married and blessed with two children.
- Dr.Sakila completed her MBBS, MD[psych], DPM from India followed by MRCPsych. She is currently working as a Specialist Registrar In Psychiatry in Sheffield, UK. She has one child.
- Dr.Senthurjeyamurugan completed his MBBS, MD[RD], DMRD in India followed by FRCR in UK and is currently working as a Locum consultant in Radiology in Walsall, Westmidlands, UK. He is leaving UK to do a fellowship in Interventional Radiology in Miami, USA in two months. He is happily married and blessed with two children.
- Dr.Sriraman completed his MBBS,MD[Internal Medicine] from India followed by MRCP,PhD[Diabetes & Endocrinology ].He is currently working as a Specialist Registrar in Diabetes & Endocrinology in Poole, UK. He is happily married with two children.
- Dr.Sundarajan completed his MBBS, MD[Internal Medicine] from India followed by MRCP. He is currently working as a Specialist Registrar in Respiratory Medicine in Liverpool, UK.He is happily married and blessed with two children.

Dear TvMCiates,
I wondered whether it is possible to have a list of our guys settled in different cities apart from Tirunelveli, Nagercoil and Tuticorin. If we could add names to a list of people settled in Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Chennai, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Cochin, Hyderabad, Delhi and Bombay it would be nice to make contact and possibly arrange for meeetings in the future.

Dear Friends,
Our batch Silver jubilee year falls next year 2009. I think we should make it a memorable one in our life time. We should plan ahead and try to make contact with everyone so please chip in your efforts in trying to get hold of the addresses and contact details of our batchmates wherever they are. I also want to propose that in memory of Anand we need to give an award to our surgery students as he was a surgeon [ gold medal in his name ] every year. I hope I would hear some suggestions about it. Please send your views and we should debate and make this event a grand success.

Dr. Sandhya Kumar graduated from Tirunelveli Medical College in India and after finishing her internship and being in practice in India for a couple of years, she moved to the United States. She did her internship and her neurology residency at Wake Forest University School Of medicine from 1996-2000 and then went on to do her fellowship in sleep medicine from 2000- 2001.
After her fellowship, she joined the Department of Neurology as an Assistant professor in 2001. Dr. Kumar is certified in neurology by The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as in Sleep medicine by The American Board of Sleep Medicine. She is the Director of the Sleep Fellowship Program.
She is a member of The American Academy of Neurology as well as the American Association of Sleep Medicine. Her clinical interest includes treatment of patients with Sleep disorders, and general neurology especially headaches. She devotes majority of her clinical time in the care of these patients along with other general neurology patients in both inpatient as well as in the outpatient settings. She devotes rest of her time in research regarding sleep disorders as well as interpreting polysomnograms as well as teaching medical students, residents and fellows. Aside from this she enjoys spending time with her husband and son and together they enjoy travel and other outdoor activities.

Hi Sandhya Kumar,
This is Ramesh Shankar from your batch. I justed visited the site today for the first time. It is nice to see your photograph and your credentials. I am in UK as Consultant Psychiatrist. As u might be aware our batch silver jubilee is next year [2009] and we are planning for a reunion in a big way as usual and so I am trying to get hold of all of our batchmates living abroad. If u have any details of them in there please let me know. I am blessed with two little angles. Our batchmates meet here quiet often execpt a few. We have about ten here but Senthur JeyaMurugan is on his way there to do fellowship in Radiology in Miami. Keep in touch.
