Dr. Sandhya Kumar graduated from Tirunelveli Medical College in India and after finishing her internship and being in practice in India for a couple of years, she moved to the United States. She did her internship and her neurology residency at Wake Forest University School Of medicine from 1996-2000 and then went on to do her fellowship in sleep medicine from 2000- 2001.
After her fellowship, she joined the Department of Neurology as an Assistant professor in 2001. Dr. Kumar is certified in neurology by The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as in Sleep medicine by The American Board of Sleep Medicine. She is the Director of the Sleep Fellowship Program.
She is a member of The American Academy of Neurology as well as the American Association of Sleep Medicine. Her clinical interest includes treatment of patients with Sleep disorders, and general neurology especially headaches. She devotes majority of her clinical time in the care of these patients along with other general neurology patients in both inpatient as well as in the outpatient settings. She devotes rest of her time in research regarding sleep disorders as well as interpreting polysomnograms as well as teaching medical students, residents and fellows. Aside from this she enjoys spending time with her husband and son and together they enjoy travel and other outdoor activities.

This is Ramesh Shankar from your batch. I justed visited the site today for the first time. It is nice to see your photograph and your credentials. I am in UK as Consultant Psychiatrist. As u might be aware our batch silver jubilee is next year [2009] and we are planning for a reunion in a big way as usual and so I am trying to get hold of all of our batchmates living abroad. If u have any details of them in there please let me know. I am blessed with two little angles. Our batchmates meet here quiet often execpt a few. We have about ten here but Senthur JeyaMurugan is on his way there to do fellowship in Radiology in Miami. Keep in touch.

Dr.Julius Scott (1988 to 1994 Batch), native of Nagerkoil joined CMC,Vellore and finished DCH,MD and became lecturer in Pediatrics. At present he is on a study leave and doing his fellowship in Pediatric Oncology in Adelaide. He had published a book Scott's PaediaTRICKS for pediatric practical exam which is available in Tirunelveli cooperatvie stores and Higginbothams and also Eagle book stall

My name is Joseph Kamalesh and i am a student and avid fan of the great Julius Scott. I had a very small and inconspiquous part to play in the creation of " Scott's Peadiatrics" and it gives me great satisfaction to see the name of the book spreading far and wide. We at CMC are extremely fortunate to have such a great teacher among us but whatever said and done the cheers to TVMC to have produced such a personality . Dr Shantha Sankaranarayanan is a highly pious physician and surgeon.
Dr Shantha got her M.B.B.S degree from Tirunelveli medical college situated in South Tamil Nadu.She married A.Sankaranarayanan and came to Mumbai.
Then she specialised in community medicine.Shantha earned her M D(Preventive & Social Medicine)and D.P.H from Mumbai University. Dr Shantha Sankaranarayanan has taught many undergraduate and post graduate students in L T M M College, Sion Mumbai. She is a post graduate teacher of the Mumbai university medical faculty.She published many papers in community medicine. She was deputed to the Mumbai Districts AIDS Control Society as joint director. She became the additional director of that organisation.She represented India in the WHO regional meeting at Thailand held recently.
Now she is joining back the Brihan Mumbai Mahanagarpalika as professor, P S M department in the Nair hospital & T N medical college .
